Central Arizona College will host the Young Advanced Technology Academy for students entering 7th through 10th grades at the Signal Peak Campus (8470 N. Overfield Road, Coolidge, AZ) in June.
Two different sessions will be offered. The first session, for 7th and 8th graders will be June 11 through 14. Ninth and 10th graders will attend the second session scheduled for June 18 to 21. The Academy begins at 9 a.m. and will end at 3 p.m. each day.
The academy will engage students in advanced technology skills including manufacturing, welding, machining, 3D printing and construction. Hands-on, project-based learning in each of these areas will expose students to potential career opportunities in high paying, high demand occupations. Students will also gain leadership skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, communication and time management.
There is no cost to attend these sessions but students are asked to commit to attending every day.
