Business (A.A.S.)
The Associate of Applied Science Degree prepares students for employment directly into the workforce of their chosen degree. A degree in business leads to careers in Accounting, Consulting, Commerce, Business Administration, e-Business or e-Commerce, Finance, Marketing and Management. Some people with a business administrative degree will choose to work in private retail or wholesale businesses while others will select government work. Fierce competition is expected for highly competitive and peak-earning positions such as management consultant or business analyst.
Computer Programming (A.A.S.)
Employment opportunities at the degree level
- Computer Programmer – Write programs in a variety of languages, such as C++ and Java. Test code that allows computer applications and software programs to function properly.
- Application Software Developer – Develop, create and modify general computer applications software of specialized utility programs.
- Back-End Developer – Use server-side languages like PHP, Ruby, Python, Java, C++ and C# to build applications and tools like MySQL, Oracle and SQL Server to find, save or change data and serve it back to the front-end code.
- Full Stack Developer – A combination of front and back end work. High-end career.
- System Software Developer – Research, design, develop and test operating systems-level software, compilers and network distribution software for medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, business, scientific and general computing applications.
Hotel and Restaurant Management (A.A.S.)
Employment opportunities at the degree level
- Restaurant Manager – Pleases customers by providing a pleasant dining experience, manages staff and develops budgets.
- Kitchen Director – Prepares meals by providing food preparation expertise, promoting and providing quality food serves, manages kitchen staff, budgeting and ordering supplies.
- Hotel Manager – Serves guests by providing sleeping accommodations, food and beverage services, special event planning and directing staff.
- Catering or Event Director – Assists clients to coordinate food, beverage and entertainment needs for special events.
Microcomputer Business Application (A.A.S.)
Employment opportunities at the degree level
- Front Desk Coordinator – Will be greeting and directing clients, some filing, data entry, and completing other various administrative tasks is required.
- Receptionist/Secretary – Responsibilities include answering calls, directing information, mail, administrative typing, letters & correspondence, spreadsheets and CSI/MasterSpec specifications.
- Administrative Assistant/Receptionist – Act as the Receptionist and first point of contact for all visitors. Provide administrative support to members of the Senior Management team to include but not limited to: maintaining calendars, scheduling and organizing meetings, arranging travel and processing expense reports. Order all office supplies and ensure supplies are appropriately stocked. Coordinate and provide support on special events/projects.
Network Administration (A.A.S.)
A combination of general education classes, business skill development and core computer networking classes prepares you for continued education with your BAS degree at U of A South with enough involvement in the BAS program, classes will be taught on-line and at CAC, saving travel to the Tucson area.

- Help Desk Lead – Responsible for leading a team in analyzing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining the computer system, terminal network, and peripheral equipment.
- Network Administrator Assistant – Responsible for all aspects of system administration including networks, applications, database, and telecommunications by implementation, configuration, coordination, control, maintenance, troubleshooting, security, usage monitoring, and the development of specialized system procedures.
