Unofficial Transcript Evaluation

Advisors at Central Arizona College conduct unofficial transcript evaluations to provide students with a preliminary assessment of previously completed coursework from other regionally accredited institutions. During this review, advisors examine unofficial transcripts to identify potential transfer credits, determine how prior courses may apply toward degree or certificate requirements, and assist students in developing an academic plan. The evaluation is intended for advising purposes only and does not constitute an official transfer credit determination. Final credit awards are subject to the official transcript review process conducted by the college’s admissions and registration office after receipt of official transcripts.

Exam Equivalency Review

Have you completed AP, CLEP, DSST, or IB exams? Advisors can review your exam scores to determine whether they may satisfy Central Arizona College degree or certificate requirements.

During the review, advisors will:

  • Evaluate your scores for possible course equivalencies or credit awards.
  • Explain which CAC requirements may be met by your exam results.
  • Advise whether official score reports or transcripts need to be submitted for credit evaluation.

Exams that may be reviewed include:

  • Advanced Placement (AP)
  • College-Level Examination Program (CLEP)
  • DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST)
  • International Baccalaureate (IB)
  • Cambridge International Exams (CIE)

Helpful Tip:
You can upload your unofficial transcripts when scheduling an advising appointment. Providing your transcripts in advance allows advisors to review your previous coursework before your meeting, making the appointment more productive and helping identify potential transfer credit, course equivalencies, and degree requirements more efficiently. This can save time and ensure you receive the most accurate advising recommendations.
