Nursing CAC/ASU CEP Packet
Introduction
The Central Arizona College- Arizona State University Concurrent Enrollment Associate Degree – Baccalaureate Degree Nursing Program (CEP) is a partnership that allows nursing students the opportunity to complete their Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in nursing through their community college while simultaneously completing their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) through ASU. Participants are selected from students who have met the CAC nursing and ASU CEP identified eligibility requirements.
Eligibility
To be eligible to join the ASU CEP, students must meet the following criteria:
- Be admitted to or enrolled in the CAC associate degree nursing program.
- Earn a minimum 3.0 ASU prerequisite GPA, which is calculated using the following courses:
o ENG 101 First Year Composition I
o ENG 102 First Year Composition II
o MAT 142 College Mathematics

Key Information
• Students must either have a current application in the CAC pool or students must already be admitted to the CAC nursing program to be eligible for CEP consideration at ASU.
• All students must complete both the CAC prerequisites and the ASU CEP prerequisite courses noted above with a 3.00 GPA.
• Students should attend a Nursing Information Session with CAC. This presentation provides an overview of the CAC nursing requirements and the CEP program.
• Students applying for CEP admission must select the ASU CEP interest box on the CAC nursing application.
• All CAC nursing courses are taught in the classroom, lab or clinical at the CAC Signal Peak Campus.
• ASU courses are taught 100% online.
• Final determinations of transfer credits will be made by both CAC and ASU. Students with coursework from institutions other than CAC and ASU should have their coursework submitted for official evaluation through ASU’s Transfer Guide.
• Application and acceptance to ASU is determined after admission to CAC’s nursing program.
• Traditional CEP students can begin the ASU CEP courses the summer prior to CAC’s block 1 in fall. Traditional CEP students starting CAC’s block 1 in spring will begin their ASU courses in spring.
• Midpoint entry is available for current CAC nursing students who have already started block 1. CAC nursing students interested in midpoint should contact Edson College directly at asu.cep@asu.edu for next steps.
