Student Success

Central Arizona College’s Office of Student Success Initiatives is committed to helping students reach their educational goals.

We work with students directly at New Student Orientations and through focused Student Success Workshops.  We also connect students with helpful resources such as tutoring, accessibility services, and career placement services.

How we help students succeed:

  • New Student Orientations

Orientations are an opportunity to connect with other students, faculty, and staff to learn all about Central Arizona College.  Our on-campus orientations are offered at our Signal Peak Campus, Superstition Mountain Campus, Maricopa Campus, San Tan Campus & Aravaipa Campus and include tours to familiarize yourself with your home campus.  Topics covered include working with Advising, utilizing Financial Aid, and using technology such as Blackboard and student email.

  • The Learning Center: Tutoring

Free tutoring services are available to students by walk-in or appointment basis, and even though our principal focus is on providing writing, mathematics, and science support, services are available for a wide range of courses. Let us find a tutor for you.

Tutoring for most courses is available to students both in-person and through remote software at all Learning Center locations. Stay on your main campus and work with a tutor at another location. We can even provide tutoring through your at-home internet connection via Blackboard! All students can receive online help through Blackboard. Check out your course list in Blackboard for online tutoring and help. Ask questions and submit papers online. The Learning Centers will make a sincere effort to provide resources to assist students in their academic endeavors, and remember, tutoring is free of charge!
