ESL (English as a Second Language) / ELAA (English Language Acquisition for Adults)

Central Arizona College’s ESL classes are partially funded through the Department of Education’s Adult Education Grant (Title II of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) and are designed to help adults learn the 4 basic communication skills – listening, speaking, reading, and writing – with the purpose of

1) assisting adults to obtain the knowledge and skills necessary for employment and economic self-sufficiency;

2) assisting adults who are parents to obtain the education and skills needed to participate successfully in the educational development of their children and improve the economic opportunities of the family;

3) assisting immigrants and other individuals who are English language learners in acquiring an understanding of the American system of government, individual freedom, and the responsibilities of citizenship

Central Arizona College offers low cost ESL classes throughout Pinal County. Please see our Fee Schedule below. Students who haven’t lived in Arizona for at least a year, will also pay the out-of-state portion of the tuition ($258 for a 3-credit course in the 2017-2018 program year).
