Grant Proposal Development Steps

STEP 1

Have an idea for a project and find a grant that could fund it.

STEP 2

Complete the pre-proposal grant short form for grants $100,000 or less, obtain the required signatures, and forward the completed form to the Grants Office.

OR

Complete the pre-proposal grant concept approval form for grants $100,000 or more, obtain the required signatures, and forward the completed form to the Grants Office.

STEP 3

The Grants Initiative Committee reviews pre-proposals for grants $100,000 or less, without significant match requirements, partnerships, or sustainability requirements.

The Cabinet reviews pre-proposals for grants that are $100,001 or more or that involve significant partnerships or sustainability requirements. The Grants Initiative Committee reviews the pre-proposal for these grants first and makes a recommendation to Cabinet.

STEP 4

Write the grant proposal if you receive authorization to do so.

STEP 5

The appropriate CAC staff review the grant proposal.

STEP 6

President Elliott or another authorized representative signs the completed application.

STEP 7

Submit the completed proposal to the funding entity by the deadline.
