Retail Management National Certificate supports CAC & Western Association of Food Chains (WAFC) Industry Partnership

Central Arizona College’s Business Division Management Certificate qualifies for the Western Association of Food Chains (WAFC) National Retail Management credential. The WAFC recently announced that 3,000 graduates have received this credential, showing the commitment of the food industry to develop future leaders.

CAC’s Management Certificate features eight courses, totaling 24 credits. Spring 2020 course offerings include BUS123 Business Relations; CIS110 Fundamentals of Computer Literacy or CIS120 Survey of Computer Information Systems; BUS207 Business Communications; BUS190 Principles of Management and Leadership; BUS180 Introduction to Marketing; HRM252 Managing Hospitality Human Resources; ACC100 Fundamentals of Accounting or ACC201 Financial Accounting; and BUS220 Retail Management. Most courses may be completed online or via ITV at the Aravaipa, Maricopa, Signal Peak, San Tan & Superstition Mountain Campuses. Certificate classes may then stack into the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Business Degree.

Gayle Haro, Professor of Business explains, “The CAC Management Certificate focuses on leadership skill functions that transcend into management positions across all major industries. By completing this certificate, students will increase their employability and promotional opportunities into higher paying management positions.” She adds, “In addition to being recognized by the grocery chain business, this certificate supports general business management curriculum valuable to all careers and disciplines.”

Current WAFC employees may check with their management team for tuition reimbursement program opportunities through their employer.

Registration is currently taking place for spring 2020. The 16-week semester will begin Jan 21. Admissions must be completed online and college orientation and/or the Blackboard Learning System training sessions are available.
