Central Arizona College Releases Spring 2026 Edition of Saguaro Speaks – A Student Literary Magazine
By Angela Askey, Executive Director Public Relations and Marketing
The Central Arizona College Literary Arts & Language Division proudly announces the release of the Spring 2026 edition of Saguaro Speaks, CAC’s student literary magazine. Now available digitally on the college website, this fifth issue features outstanding works of fiction, poetry, and personal essays by CAC students. The edition also includes the first and second place poems from CAC’s 2026 Black History Month Poetry Contest.
Professor of English Tim Hohmann, who has served as editor for the 2024, 2025 and current 2026 editions selected works that capture the unique voices and experiences of the college’s student body.
“In our creative writing and composition courses, students write about their experiences and cultures. Student prose and poetry published in Saguaro Speaks often starts out as writing exercises or beginnings, which are developed, revised and honed—employing the techniques of writing craft taught in the classes,” said Professor Hohmann. “It’s important to share this work with our college community—not only to recognize the individuals who put themselves out there creatively, but also to better understand the lived experiences of students in our classes.”
Saguaro Speaks was originally launched by former CAC Professor of English Keith Eubanks, who produced two print editions in 2006 and 2007. Today, the publication continues this proud tradition in digital form, celebrating student creativity and expression through an annual online edition.
