Central Arizona College Implements New Scholarship Management System

By Angela Askey, Executive Director Public Relations and Marketing

Central Arizona College recently implemented a new scholarship management system to streamline the scholarship application process. In partnership with AwardSpring, CAC students can be matched with multiple scholarships through one application.

Jose Dagnino, Director of Financial Aid explained, “The number of scholarship applications has increased more than 42% over the past two academic years.” He added, “As a financial aid team, it is our goal to help students access scholarship dollars to help them achieve their college education. We believe the AwardSpring program will do just this, providing them (students) with additional funding opportunities.”

AwardSpring will save students time and effort when looking for and applying for scholarships. Through one simple application, they can apply for more than 50 scholarships, including institutional scholarships, CAC Foundation awards and the Pinal Promise Tuition Program.

Celina Moses, Financial Aid Programs Coordinator stated, “Students no longer need to spend hours sifting through scholarships they think they may be eligible for. AwardSpring automatically matches students to a wide range of scholarships by cross-referencing the student’s profile against the eligibility criteria in the scholarship database.”

Central Arizona College offers a variety of scholarship programs to recognize students for their academic performance as well as for participation in athletics and other activities. Students can explore and apply for available scholarships at centralaz.awardspring.com

To be eligible for a scholarship the student must be pursuing a degree or certificate, comply with all requirements and be a United States citizen or an eligible non-citizen, as defined by eligibility requirements. Both the AwardSpring application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be completed annually when appropriate. A student may receive one or more scholarships not to exceed the cost of tuition, registration and processing fees for a resident student when applicable.

The FAFSA for the 2026–27 school year is now open. For students planning to attend college in Fall 2026, Spring 2027 or Summer 2027 the FAFSA can be completed at studentaid.gov.
