Central Arizona College ECN 201 Students Have Entered the National Rockonomix (economics music video parody) Contest

By Angela Askey, Executive Director of Public Relations & Marketing

Students enrolled in ECN 201, Principles of Macroeconomics and ECN 202, Principles of Microeconomics submitted videos for a chance to be entered into the national Rockonomix (economics music video parody) contest.

A panel of judges from the Business Division judged all CAC videos submitted and selected one for the national contest submission.

The video titled, “All About the Price,” a parody of Meghan Trainor’s ‘All About that Bass,’ by Maricopa Campus iTV ECN 201 students, Jorge Camacho, Jacob Ford, and Brittany Petersen was selected and submitted to Rockonomix.

Voting for the contest is happening now and is available until January 7, 2018, at 5 p.m. EST.

Voting is open to all and multiple votes can be cast.

All videos can be viewed at https://www.rockonomix.com and the voting can be done at http://tiny.cc/rockonomix17.

Rockonomix is billed as “Weird Al Yankovic meets School House Rock.” Kim Holder, at the University of West Georgia, started Rockonomix in the fall of 2010 as a way to more fully immerse her students in learning economics. It has since grown into this national contest.

Only 14 colleges/universities entered the contest, and the top 3 videos (based on the open voting) will receive a $500, $300, or $200 cash prize per team.

Good Luck to our CAC students!
