Central Arizona College and Combs High School Celebrate New CAC Connect Partnership
By Angela Askey, Executive Director Public Relations and Marketing
On Tuesday, Feb. 11, a ribbon cutting was held at Combs High School, signifying the official launch of CAC Connect, A J.O. Combs Educational Partnership.
CAC Connect is a new and innovative partnership formed between Combs High School and Central Arizona College that provides an office space in the high school Career and College Center where CAC advisors, academic departments and recruiters will meet with students during normal school hours.
CAC Connect will allow CAC staff and faculty the opportunity to assist high school students with the exploration of career options, applying online and registering for classes. Students will have convenient access to interact with high school and college staff simultaneously, from the comfort and familiar space of their high school.
Scott Sheldon, Combs High School Assistant Principal thanked CAC for providing students with this opportunity. He stated, “The relationship we have with CAC has been excellent. Our kids will be the beneficiaries of some very important things and they should be excited about what they can gain.”
Dr. Jackie Elliott, CAC President stated, “We appreciate the opportunity to partner with J.O. Combs.” She added, “Students, this is all about you. When our recruiters and counselors are here on your campus they are not just here to help you go to CAC. If you need help with our FAFSA or information about one of the Universities, they are going to help you. They care about you as a student being successful and about helping everybody in Pinal County have opportunities for higher learning and opportunities to do great things.”
