Three Central Arizona College Students Named Coca-Cola Scholars
By Angela Askey, Executive Director Public Relations and Marketing
Three Central Arizona College students were recently named 2025 Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team scholars. Kenzie Allen, a student at the Maricopa Campus is a Coca-Cola Gold Scholar. Carina Tapia from the San Tan Campus and Crystal Varney of the Signal Peak Campus are both awarded Bronze Scholar recognition.
The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation sponsors the Coca-Cola Academic Team program by recognizing 50 Gold, 50 Silver, and 50 Bronze Scholars with nearly $200,000 in scholarships annually. Each scholar also receives a commemorative medallion. Each Gold Scholar will receive a $1,500 scholarship and a gold medallion. Bronze Scholars receive a $1,000 scholarship and bronze medallion.
All three students were selected for their outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and engagement in college and community service. All three plan to transfer to Northern Arizona University to further their education, with Allen pursuing a Doctorate in History, Tapia striving to earn a master’s degree in clinical social work, and Varney completing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Coca-Cola Academic Team members will be recognized internationally during Phi Theta Kappa’s annual convention, PTK Catalyst, in Kansas City, Missouri, April 3-5.
