Local Children Receive Free Bikes and Helmets at CAC Early Learning Center Bike Rodeo

On November 18th, The Signal Peak Early Learning Center (ELC) held a Bike Safety Rodeo. During this community event celebrating young bike riders, participants learned about bike safety.

A total of 35 children were in attendance during the event. Twelve of the students are currently enrolled in the ELC, seven were ELC graduates and 16 were friends and community members. Of the participants, 23 received bikes and 34 received helmets.

Laura Salter, Director of the Signal Peak Early Learning Center stated, “We want to express our appreciation to the sponsors and volunteers who helped make the event a success. With the support of Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Bob’s Free Bikes, Toys for Tots, CAC Campus Police Department, The Moncada-Castillo Family, The Escalante-Knight Family and CAC Men’s basketball team we were able to provide children this opportunity.”

Central Arizona College, in collaboration with the Easterseals Blake Foundation, educates and cares for children in a natural and welcoming environment with a child centered curriculum. The Early Learning Center provides year- round learning and care for children ages 12 months to 5 years in a caring, hands-on learning environment available to support student parents, CAC faculty and staff, and working families.
