CAC to Host Empty Bowls on Tuesday, Feb. 25

By Angela Askey, Executive Director of Public Relations and Marketing

Central Arizona College will host the annual Empty Bowls event on Tues., February 25 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Signal Peak Campus, Sizer (N) Building courtyard (8470 N. Overfield Road, Coolidge, AZ 85128).

Empty Bowls is a worldwide grass roots initiative that began in 1990 to help fight hunger. CAC ceramists create food safe, stoneware bowls and the CAC Culinary Arts students serve a simple meal of soup and bread.

For a minimum donation of $10 cash, guests may choose a bowl to use and keep, as a reminder that there are always empty bowls in the world.  All funds raised by the CAC Art Department are donated to local food banks.

Empty Bowls is sponsored by CAC Arts Department and Culinary Arts program, Marjon, Inc., Laguna Clay and Vrana Law Firm.
