Virtual Skilled Trades Expo Set for April 1

Are you interested in a career in one of the exciting, fast-growing fields of energy, construction, advanced manufacturing, or distribution but don’t know where to start? Register now for the Virtual Skilled Trades Expo scheduled for April 1.

“Hosting the event virtually is giving us the opportunity to expand our reach, connecting students and employers across Arizona,” said Sandra Zires, Director of Manufacturing Apprenticeships at Central Arizona Community College. “Arizona’s job market is growing rapidly, making this a great time for students to explore sustainable careers in the skilled trades.”

The expo, which is being hosted in partnership by Estrella Mountain Community College, Central Arizona College, Mesa Community College, Pima Community College, Maricopa Corporate College, the Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation, and WESTMARC, will introduce current and prospective students to business and industry professionals who will share information about job training, education, and employment opportunities. Abbott Nutrition, Palo Verde, Rummel Construction, Forms+Spaces, Sunwest McLane, and Landscapes Unlimited are just some of the companies participating in the expo.

“We are very excited to bring together community partners such as Arizona@Work, college advisors and former students to talk about how individuals can enter these in-demand career fields,” stated Zires.

Expo participants may attend live presentations with employers, receive help applying for jobs and learn how to leverage scholarships and federal financial aid.

Attendees will also be able to create a PipelineAZ account to connect them with employers looking to hire interns, apprentices, and part-time and full-time employees.
