Central Arizona College Foundation Seeking Scholarship Applicants

Central Arizona College Foundation scholarships assist students enrolled at Central Arizona College achieve their educational goals. The Foundation is currently seeking applicants for several scholarships, including the James Whitson McQueen IT Scholarship, James Whitson McQueen Nursing Scholarship and The Joyce Amburgey Memorial Scholarship.
The James Whitson McQueen Information Technology Scholarship and The James Whitson McQueen Nursing Scholarship were established by his mother Carolyn Whitson, in memory of McQueen who worked at CAC from November 2006 to June 2021.
The James Whitson McQueen Information Technology Scholarship provides financial support for students pursuing an Information Technology degree, while CAC nursing students are eligible to apply for the James Whitson McQueen Nursing Scholarship. For either scholarship, applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher and submit a video highlighting their work ethic, passion for their chosen field and plans for using their degree after graduation. Applicants must also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine financial need. Each scholarship offers a potential award of $1,500 per semester.
The Joyce Amburgey Memorial Scholarship was established by her family to help make higher education accessible to deserving students. Applicants must be residents of Pinal County or graduates of a Pinal County high school who plan to pursue a career in the medical field. Preference is given to first-generation college students and those from disadvantaged backgrounds. A scholarship of up to $1,000 may be awarded during both the fall and spring semesters.
The application deadline for scholarship applications is Thursday, August 13, 2026.
