CAC DREAMers Club to Host Presentation by Judith Perera

The Central Arizona College DREAMers Club will host a presentation by Judith Perera on “Violent Detentions: Administrative Caging in Pinal County, 1980s-present” on Tuesday, March 27 from Noon until 1 p.m. at the San Tan Campus, Room A101 (3736 E. Bella Vista Road, San Tan Valley, AZ 85143.)

Judith Perera is a Ph.D. candidate in history at Arizona State University. She earned her J.D. from Pepperdine Law School. Her dissertation analyzes the historical evolution of the modern noncitizen detention regime while highlighting the significance of understanding discrepancies between official detention policy and realities of noncitizen experiences in detention. Her work is inspired by her pro bono experience inside detention center courtrooms in Pinal County.
