GEAR UP is a grant program from the U.S. Department of Education designed to increase the number of low-income students who are prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education.

GEAR UP at Central Arizona College serves students from Pinal County, starting in the seventh grade and follows them through high school.

The program at Central Arizona College offers:

• Peer mentoring
• Faculty & staff mentoring
• Personalized tutoring
• Individualized advising
• Cultural excursions across Arizona
• Visits to all Arizona universities
