CAC to Host You Can Go! Community Workshops

By Angela Askey, Executive Director Public Relations and Marketing

Central Arizona College will host You Can Go! Community Workshops in July and August to provide information about skill based training, Adult Education (GED/ESL), and University Transfer opportunities.

According to Georgetown Center on Education and the Workforce Analysis, 60% of all jobs will require training beyond high school by the year 2020.

Those who attend the You Can Go! workshops will discover pathways to success. Adult education provides essential skills instruction while skill-based training provides specialized educational opportunities leading to certification that can be earned in as little as one semester for in-demand careers. Transfer pathways allow students to earn a certificate or degree at CAC and transfer to one of more than 20 national partners.

During the workshops, admissions representatives will walk attendees through the application process, assist in mapping pathways to help meet educational goals and discuss financial resources available to assist with training costs.

Celina Salinas, Assistant Director of Recruitment stated, “We recognize the challenges and concerns our community members face when trying to navigate the college going process, and believe the onsite workshops are a great opportunity to meet people where they are, and more importantly provide support in getting started.”
