Central Arizona College hosted the fourth annual Vidas Brillantes, conference for young women, focusing on the connection between academic success and the pursuit of a bright future.
More than 90 young women from Cactus Middle School, Casa Grande Middle School and Villago Middle School attended the event.
Students attended sessions on setting life goals, exploring career options, and successfully navigating the college experience. They heard from a student panel and community speakers. The program ended with lunch in the new Student Union, compliments of CAC Student Engagement.
Each attendee received a certificate, a commemorative Vidas Brillantes t-shirt, and a backpack filled with CAC items. More importantly, students took away some life lessons on the importance of staying on track and being successful in school.
Sherrie Licon, Director of Student Success explained, “We are pleased to offer this experience for local middle school students and to encourage these young women to become confident and college-ready.”
