The Central Arizona College Adult Education Department recently received The Excelling Adult Education Program Award for Adult Basic Education (ABE) and Adult Secondary Education (ASE) from the Arizona Department of Education.
The award recognizes adult education programs that demonstrate exceptional performance, accountability and achievement in serving ABE and ASE students. It highlights programs that exemplify excellence in student outcomes, program performance and responsible stewardship of public resources.
To qualify for this recognition, programs were required to meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrate an increase in the overall Measurable Skill Gain (MSG) rate.
- Meet or exceed the overall MSG percentage target
- Meet at least 90% of the enrollment target, or exceed the target, in all funded program areas.
- Rank in the top 50% of Title II Programs based on the Risk Assessment Ranking.
- Have no Corrective Action Plan (CAP) or Memo of Concern (MoC) in the prior year.
CAC’s recognition reflects its commitment to student success and programming excellence. The department demonstrated improved student outcomes by increasing and meeting MSG targets, achieving enrollment goals across all funded program areas, maintaining a low-risk operational profile, and operating without the need for corrective actions or formal concerns.
CAC’s Adult Education staff are dedicated to providing quality educational opportunities that help adult learners build skills, achieve their goals and pursue future educational and career success.
