As a public body, Central Arizona College is subject to the Arizona Public Records Laws. These Laws are a set of rules and court decisions that give the public the right to access government records, A.R.S. § 39-101 to -161 and A.R.S. § 15-1640.

“Public record” means any public record or other matter, whether in paper, electronic or other form, that is in the custody of CAC or a CAC official, employee or agent, as these terms have been interpreted by the Arizona courts. Public records include:
The time for response will vary for each request and may be impacted by several factors, including but not limited to:
Most documentation is considered a public record and is subject to disclosure with three broad exceptions:
Disclosure is not required where prohibited by statute, court rule or court order (i.e., social security numbers, students’ education records, etc.)
Some records or information need not be disclosed due to an individual’s privacy rights (i.e., home address, telephone numbers, racial background, age, etc.)
Disclosure may not be required if release of the record is not in the best interest of the state or of CAC (i.e., release would inhibit public safety efforts or place CAC at a competitive disadvantage).
There is no charge to view public record(s) onsite at CAC.
