The Promise for the Future Requirements and Guidelines may be found on the CAC Foundation website, www.centralaz.edu/promise. Please read them over completely. As a Promise student you are responsible for following the Requirements and Guidelines of the Promise Program. Below are some common questions which may provide the answer you need! If you don’t see your Q&A, please contact us.
Q: What are the requirements to sign-up for Promise?
A: You must live in Pinal County with your parents or guardians and attend 8th grade in Pinal County.
Q.: When do I sign up for Promise for the Future?
A: The Promise Coordinator from the Central Arizona College will visit your 8th grade class in the spring. This begins your time to sign the Promise Pledge.
Q: What is the deadline to fill out the Promise Pledge?
A: You must complete and file the Promise Pledge by your 8th grade promotion.
Q: Where do I sign up for Promise?
A: All students can sign-up online at www.centralaz.edu/promise The directions and “ENROLL in PROMISE” button is active during the sign-up period. You will receive confirmation that we have received your Promise Pledge.
Q: Who do I contact if I have questions about Promise for the Future?
A: You can send an email to, email@example.com or call the Central Arizona College Foundation office at 520-494-5216. A staff member will answer your question(s) promptly!
Q: Do I have to graduate from a Pinal County public high school?
A: Yes, Promise students must receive a Pinal County high school graduation certificate or diploma. It is your responsibility to fulfill the requirements of the Promise program.
Q: How are my Promise tuition funds determined?
A: Promise funding is for any tuition need not met by other funding resources. You must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine if you are eligible for federal funding assistance. You may also be receiving other scholarships or grants from other entities. CAC Financial Aid personnel review all of this information to determine how much tuition financial aid you can receive from other sources. Promise funding is awarded after all other financial aid has been applied to your account (excluding student loans). This occurs after the registration period known as Class Changes -Add/Drop.
Q: What if I do not need Promise tuition funds this semester?
A: As a Promise student, you are eligible for Promise tuition funds, as needed, for four consecutive semesters (not including summer semester) provided you enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester, complete 9 credit hours, and you maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA. The Financial Aid office is monitoring your financial need, however, if your financial situation changes, you should contact your advisor or the Financial Aid office as soon as possible.
Q: Is the 2.75 GPA weighted or unweighted?
A: The high school GPA required is a cumulative, weighted 2.75 GPA.
Q: How many hours of community service do I have to complete before I graduate from high school? Where do I submit this information?
A: You must complete a total 20 hours of community service. A “Community Service Form” can be printed from the Foundation website, www.centralaz.edu/promise. Upon fulfilling your service, please email the form to firstname.lastname@example.org by mail, send to Attn: Promise, CAC Foundation Office, 8470 N. Overfield Rd., Coolidge, AZ 85128.
