|CAC Server-Network Maintenance Window|
In an effort to help ensure the effectiveness, security, performance and reliability of the services we support and deliver, Information Technology Services is establishing a series of maintenance windows to provide necessary time to devote to the preventative care and ongoing improvements of our multitude of complex systems. Our fundamental objective with all maintenance activities is to ensure maximum availability of all systems and resources, especially during business hours.
Effective immediately and until further notice, we are announcing the following scheduled maintenance windows:
Weekly: Every Thursday morning 4am-7am
Monthly: Every 2nd Thursday night 11pm thru Friday morning 7am (on occasion, may be extended to Noon if work involves outside contractors)
(Access to the Internet and on-campus technology services may be down or intermittent during any of the windows above)
Student Lab, Classroom & Instructional PC's
Weekly: Every Weekday night 11pm thru 7am
(With over 2,000 systems meeting this criteria, campuses are approached on a staggered schedule throughout the week)
Staff Office PC's
Weekly: Every Thursday afternoon starting at 2pm
(Security, mandatory and recommended patches are applied to systems while in use during the afternoon and a reboot scheduled at the convenience of the user)
Weekly: Every Thursday night 11pm thru Friday morning 2am
ITS will make every effort to work with departments to minimize or avoid service disruption if these activities conflict with important scheduled or academic activities, but we ask for your assistance, cooperation and understanding to work within these constraints in your planning and bring only those critical situations potentially requiring adjustments to our attention.
ITS will also make every effort to keep the community informed of maintenance windows which will not be utilized, as well as keep you informed of plans, accomplishments and progress.
