Fire Science Technology Program

Associate of Applied Science - Fire Science

Fire

Our communities rely heavily on the members of the fire service to provide methodical responses toward service delivery and mitigation. The Fire Science Technology Degree Program of study is designed to prepare students who desire a career in the Fire Service and will certify them to both Local and National levels.

This program of study will provide the understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a fire service member, including the study of modern fire prevention, fire protection, fire suppression, wildland firefighting, and hazardous materials response principals and practices. Successful completion of these programs can lead to employment with municipal, industrial, State and Federal agencies. Certificates of Completion are also available and are designed to enhance promotional opportunities that can ultimately lead to a four-year transfer program.

The mission of the Central Arizona College Fire Science Technology Program is to provide Local and National levels of training and educational programs that support the county's current and projected training and educational initiatives. We will continue to maintain and improve the educational goals and quality of life for our citizens, students and members of public safety.

All instructors are professional firefighters, fire service leaders and/or subject matter experts.
