Community Nutrition Worker

Standards of Program: As guided by the Value Enhanced Nutrition A ssessment (VENA) initiative developed jointly by the Food and Nutrition Service and the National Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Association to improve nutrition services in the WIC programs.

The Community Nutrition Worker Certificate (CNW) develops skills and competencies in the area of food, nutrition and wellness for public health. It is specifically geared towards employees who work for WIC, the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children. VENA competencies have been correlated with this curriculum.
