|Visiting Professor from Northeastern University in Shenyang, China Fall 2011|
This semester, Fall of 2011, Central Arizona College is hosting Professor Zhao Yujie, who is here as a visiting faculty from Northeastern Universityin Shenyang, China. Ms. Zhao’s visit is part of the Central Arizona College/Northeastern University Student and Faculty Exchange Agreement, an ongoing effort by the college’s International Studies program to promote
global interaction. In China, Yujie is a professor of linguistics within the Foreign Studies College at Northeastern University in Shenyang, which is a large industrial city in the northeast of China.
She arrived at CAC at the beginning of August and will spend the fall semester at the Signal Peak campus. During her stay she will be teaching three courses, each designed to expose CAC students, faculty, staff, and the Pinal County community in general to Chinese culture and language. A Chinese language course and a Chinese cooking course are being taught at the Signal Peak Campus and the Chinese culture course is being offered via interactive television (iTV) to the Superstition Mountain and Aravaipa Campuses and the San Tan Center, as well as Signal Peak.
We are proud to welcome Yujie to Central Arizona College. Our hope is that the CAC community visit will take advantage of the unique learning opportunity being afforded by Ms Zhao's visit.
