A Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence, Professor Felippe Ramos, visits CAC

Central Arizona College was recently awarded a prestigous Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence Grant from the United States Institute of International Education in Washington, DC.  The grant provided funding for Felippe Ramos, a Brazilian scholar, to visit and teach at CAC during the spring and summer semesters of 2011. 

Ramos, Sociology Professor at the Universidade Federal De Bahia in Salvador, Brazil,  arrived at the college on January 2d, 2011 and stayed until the end of July.  During his time here he taught a variety of classes, including Introduction to Sociology, Issues in Education, Brazilian Culture, and Portuguese Language.  As well, he was actively engaged in professional development activities and gave various community and civic lectures.

As an outgrown of Professor Ramos' visit, Central Arizona College has established an ongoing cooperative student/faculty exchange agreement with his home institution in Brazil.
