Come celebrate 40th birthday of CAC’s Signal Peak Campus on Nov. 14

PINAL COUNTY, Ariz. – Central Arizona College is inviting the community to come celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Signal Peak Campus on Saturday, Nov. 14, beginning at 2 p.m.

The fun, family-oriented event will include a college-wide open house from 2-6 p.m. featuring demonstrations from areas such as communications, culinary arts, massage therapy, nursing, science, technology, mathematics, art, the Honors Program and The Learning Center.

Children of all ages will enjoy the inflatable obstacle courses, face painting activities and heavy equipment vehicles all on The Green.

Katy Wilkins will inflate the STARLAB - an indoor planetarium – while Wayne Pryor will open the astronomy lab during the day and offer an Astronomy Night at the Peak program after sunset.

Music and entertainment will be provided throughout the day as the CAC Jazz Choir, CAC Jazz Band, CAC Bell Choir and a student guitar recital take place at various venues around the campus.

CAC’s men’s basketball team also will be in action on Nov. 14 when the Vaqueros take the court at 3 p.m. to battle Howard (TX) College in a non-conference contest.

At 4 p.m., the theatrical production Home on the Mornin’ Train will be reprised for one show only inside the Don P. Pence Center for Visual & Performing Arts, while at 6 p.m. the SRP Band will take the stage on The Green for an evening of cool music.

The 40th birthday party comes to a climax beginning at 7:30 p.m. when a brilliant fireworks display will be unleashed over the campus. Families are encouraged to bring folding chairs and blankets for use on the green during the SRP Band concert and the fireworks display.

There is no charge for any of the events, but concessions will be available for purchase throughout the day.

Central Arizona College’s Signal Peak Campus is located at the intersection of Overfield and Woodruff roads between the cities of Coolidge and Casa Grande in Pinal County.
