President's Welcome

Doris HelmichWelcome to CAC!

This is an exciting time to become part of one of the premier institutions of higher education in Arizona.

Officially recognized as the Pinal County Community College District, Central Arizona College has nine convenient campuses and centers located throughout the region and is the primary institution of higher education in the county.

CAC is a vital and integral part of Pinal County. It is a wonderful institution of higher education that has the ability to serve the many diverse communities that comprise our area. We have outstanding and caring faculty, a first-rate staff, and incredible students who are excited about the possibilities of our future.

Central Arizona College has a national reputation for excellence - excellence in quality, excellence in learning outcomes and excellence in athletics. The college has received national recognition from the Higher Learning Commission of North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, the Bellwether Assembly, the League for Innovation in the Community College, and the National Junior College Athletic Association. CAC's student-athletes have won 37 NJCAA Division I National Championships and two rodeo national titles in just over four decades of competition.

Pinal County has experienced tremendous growth in the last decade. In 2008 the voters of Pinal County recognized the need for CAC to expand and supported a $98 million capital bond referendum to build two new campuses and expand facilities and services throughout the county.

The Superstition Mountain and Aravaipa campuses were transformed and re-opened for the 2012 fall semester. Construction at the Signal Peak Campus revamped the theater, nursing building and several other facilities.

In August of 2013, CAC's new campus in the city of Maricopa opened with all of its services, while the new campus in San Tan Valley will open for the spring 2014 semester.

As a learner-centered institution, CAC focuses on what is best for the student. CAC's mission is to create lifelong learners and the talented and innovative faculty and staff are dedicated to foster a spirit of learning.

I am honored that you have chosen Central Arizona College. Our staff is ready to help you enrich your future and create limitless possibilities through learning.
