Beginning the concert will be the Central Arizona College High School Honor Band. The students were nominated to the band by their directors and selected by Professor Rick Moore. Schools participating in this event include Apache Junction High School, Casa Grande Union High School, Catalina High School (Tucson), Florence High School, Globe High School, Imagine Preparatory High School (Coolidge), Santa Cruz Valley Union High School (Eloy), Show Low High School, Tanque Verde High School (Tucson), and Vista Grande High School (Casa Grande).
Following the honor band, the 55 member Central Arizona Community Wind Ensemble will take the stage to offer a wide variety of concert band selections. The membership of the band consists of CAC students, area community members and music educators. Rick Moore, Director of Bands for CAC will lead the ensemble.
A sampling of their musical presentations will include a classic ballad “Danny Boy”; Karl King's toe tapping “Ragged Rozey”; and “Themes from an Outdoor Overture” by Aaron Copland. A three generation trumpet trio featuring, Alex Moore, Rick Moore, and Duane Moore will perform Leroy Anderson’s classic novelty selection “Bugler’s Holiday.” It is interesting to note that all three generations are also music educators.
