Central Arizona College Purge Process Continues to Support Student Success and Completion

Three years ago Central Arizona College implemented the purge process to support student success and completion. Through this process, if students had not paid their tuition and fees in full for the upcoming term, they were automatically withdrawn from the classes for which they were registered.
CAC’s interim dean of students, Veronica Duran explained, “The purge process has benefited students. We have seen an increase in the number of students who are prepared and are ready to learn the first day of their class.”
Students unable to pay their tuition and fees in full do have options available to them such as financial aid and payment plans, so long as they seek these options in advance. Waiting to seek such options after the purge day will result in loss of registration.
The first purge date for Fall 2016 is Wednesday, July 27th, with the semester starting Aug. 22. The purge dates can be found on the college website, www.centralaz.edu/feedelete.
