CAC Phi Beta Lambda Members Excel at State Competition
The Central Arizona College Business Club recently participated in the 45th Annual Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) State Leadership Conference at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ.
The two-day conference included workshops, object exams, performance events and pre-judged events.
With over 100 students in attendance the conference provided a great networking and competitive environment.
Timothy Wickert and Joseph Gamez were both CAC’s big winners. Wickert placed first in Impromptu Speaking and second in both Client Service and Business Communication. Gamez placed first in Website Design, Desktop Publishing and Computer Application. Sierra Evans took third in Help Desk, Mary Chavez was third in Hospitality Management and Jonathan Borchert received third in networking Concepts.
Each of the winning students will travel to Chicago, IL this June to compete in the national PBL conference.
Graduates, including two year President Sierra Evans, Treasurer Timothy Wickert, and Vice President Joseph Gamez will be graduating this year from CAC and continuing their education at either Grand Canyon University or Northern Arizona University.
CAC’s PBL club will host an ice cream social event for all high school DECA or FBLA members to learn about the opportunities at the collegiate level. The event will take place April 29 at 5:30 p.m. in Building M, room 101 at the Signal Peak Campus (8470 N. Overfield Dr., Coolidge, AZ).
