“New Shanghai Circus” Coming to CAC Pence Center on January 25

Central Arizona College Community Events will present the “New Shanghai Circus” at the Don P. Pence Center for the Visual and Performing Arts (8470 N. Overfield Road, Coolidge, AZ 85128) on Wednesday. Jan. 25 at 7 p.m.

This talented troupe continues to amaze audiences of all ages, bringing an all-new show to CAC. The company of 21 represents some of the finest gymnasts and acrobats from China including many who have received gold, silver, and bronze medals in China's national competitions. Astonishing athletes defy gravity and execute breathtaking feats as they stretch the limits of human ability in this spellbinding show.

The show is a stunningly orchestrated presentation of Chinese circus acts dating back to harvest festivals of 2,000 years ago. This modern day performance is enhanced by fabulous choreography and amazing lighting and scenery paired with powerful music.

Under the direction of Zhao Lizhi, audience members will be as­tounded by the skill of the multiple contortionists, masterful acrobats, and clever comedians. Most impressive are the super-human displays of power and extraordinary grace.
