Gloria England of Florence, AZ has graciously donated $100,000 to the Central Arizona College Foundation. The funds will be used to establish the Bob England Rodeo Scholarship in memory of Bob, her beloved son and business partner.
Bob England was born and raised in Florence. He was a well-known cattle rancher, rodeo participant and enthusiast. He and his mother owned England Cattle Company. He also owned Bob's Bucking Bulls and contracted stock for various rodeos. He had an outgoing personality, which was contagious to those around him.
"Bob had many friends and contributions made in celebration of Bob's life will be added to the scholarship fund," said Maggie Dooley, Director of the CAC Foundation. "We are both thrilled and honored that Mrs. England chose a Central Arizona College rodeo scholarship to commemorate Bob."
"We are grateful to Mrs. England for her support of our CAC rodeo athletes," added Joe Moody, Rodeo Team Advisor and Head Coach. "These tuition scholarship dollars will assist students in accomplishing both their academic and rodeo goals."
The scholarship criteria specify that students pursue a degree or certificate, are enrolled in a minimum of six credits per semester, and maintain a 2.5 cumulative grade point average. A demonstrated need for financial assistance will be considered with preference given to Promise for the Future students. The Foundation plans to award a $1,500 scholarship each semester.
