Still time to register for free CAC STEM Summer Camps
PINAL COUNTY, Ariz. – There is still time to register for Central Arizona College’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Summer Camps being held at the Maricopa, Signal Peak and Superstition Mountain campuses.
These camps are free to attend and include lunch. Space is limited and available on a first come, first served basis.
The college’s HSI-STEM program has arranged these dates, times and activities to ensure a fun and educational summer for incoming and current high school students as well as 2013 high school graduates. These programs have been sculpted to cater to the minds of bright high school students.
In addition to a full slate of intriguing and attention-grabbing activities, students also can meet with a CAC STEM advisor, arrange for Compass Placement Testing, or discuss STEM career opportunities.
Only 37 slots remain open for this year’s free summer camps, so parents are encourage to register their children today. Below are the four sessions open for registration:
Biology Camp (only 18 spots left!)
- Superstition Mountain Campus (Apache Junction) - June 17-20 / 8 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. - Activities include microscope use, DNA extraction, bacteria, human enzymes, DNA profile & crime scene investigation.
Chemistry Camp (only 7 spots left)
- Maricopa Campus - June 24–27 / 8 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. - Polymers, gases, and metals.
Math Jam (only 12 spots left!)
- Signal Peak Campus (Coolidge) - June 10-13 & 17-20 / 8 a.m. - 1:30pm - incoming 10th, 11th and 12th graders, as well as 2013 high school graduates.
Engineering/Technology Camp (Camp is Full – Names Being Accepted for the Waiting List)
- Signal Peak Campus (Coolidge) - July 15–18 / 8 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. - 3D printing, GPS-GIS technology, renewable energy/solar, technology of heavy equipment.
