PINAL COUNTY, Ariz. - Kevin Shultz, who served as program manager and CEO of Shoshone Information Technology from 2004-10, was introduced as Central Arizona College's new director of integrated technology systems & support during the Jan. 17 Pinal County Community College Governing Board meeting held at the Signal Peak Campus.
An eight-year director of information technologies at Central Wyoming College, Shultz then apprised the board of the college's IT strategies for 2012.
CAC's IT department is introducing a survey to the college as it attempts to grow as the college itself expands.
"The survey is intended to understand our customer base a bit better," Shultz said. "And, on top of that, develop benchmarks for our performances going forward."
The survey will be dispersed to CAC's faculty and staff, asking them of the technologies they are accustomed to using and those that they are interested in using in the future. The results of the survey, along with the ensuing improvements, will have a trickledown effect to the college's students.
"[Through the results of the survey] we hope to facilitate the learning process."
Shultz also detailed the department's desire to "work smarter, not harder" as it moves to more automated processes while also making those processes more efficient and reliable.
A graduate of the University of Wyoming, Shultz received his bachelor's degree in 1993 in management information systems before earning an M.B.A. seven years later.
Shultz will oversee CAC's servers, PC support, computing technology, multimedia, online courses and the college's reservation system.
