PINAL COUNTY, Ariz. - With the holiday season behind us, now is the time when people tend to search for the right diet.
If, like many people, losing weight is one of your New Year's resolutions, then consider bringing your lunch to the next installment of Central Arizona College's Brown Bag Talk series entitled Eat More & Weigh Less.
The event will be held on Friday, Jan. 13 at noon on the college's Signal Peak Campus. This free event is open to the public. Complimentary beverages and healthy desserts will be offered.
During the talk, Romy Nelson will help you learn how to eat more and weigh less. Her nutrition tips will help create healthy habits for life.
This event also will be specially catered by a raw food expert, so please be sure to RSVP to ensure that they will have enough of the following desserts:
• Chocolate Brownie Bits
• Green Smoothie
These raw desserts are gluten free, vegan (no animal products), no processed sugars, no-hydrogenated oils or preservatives, and are whole-food based.
Copies of the recipes for each dessert also will be available for attendees, as Nelson and caterer Lisa Chapa believe that it is important that desserts are delicious and healthy, but also accessible and easy to make.
Nelson is a registered dietetic technician as well as a certified personal trainer and three-time winner of the Ms. Fitness Arizona title. She holds a master's of education degree and a bachelor's degree in anthropology.
