Annual CAC Student Art Exhibition begins with reception on April 28

PINAL COUNTY, Ariz. – The Central Arizona College Art Department invites the public to visit the Annual Student Art Exhibition on display at the institution’s Visual Arts Gallery April 29-May 16 at the Signal Peak Campus.
The show will make its debut with a reception on Tuesday, April 28, from 6-8 p.m. at the gallery located in the Student Services Center (Building M, clock tower).
The gallery is open to the public from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Friday.
The exhibition highlights the best student work from classes held during the current academic year. Faculty members who teach the classes select the pieces for display.
The show will consist of more than 60 pieces of artwork in various media including digital photography, painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics and jewelry, and metalsmithing.
The reception is free to the public and will be catered by Central Arizona College’s culinary arts and hospitality students. Chef Carol Bennett and Linda Kroll of the hospitality program are the instructors.
The Southwest Extravaganza menu will consist of the following items:
• Bacon, Avocado and Raspberry Chipotle Quesadillas
• Empanadas with Potato and Chili
• Tostada Bar featuring:
o Guacamole and Shrimp
o Creamy Chipotle Chicken
o Avocado Cream
o Assorted Salsas
o White Bean Dip
• Fruit Kabobs drizzled with Chocolate
• Frozen Lime Mousse
• Prickly Pear Lemonade
