Dinner & a free celestial show
COOLIDGE, Ariz. - Central Arizona College and Sodexho, the food service provider for the institution, are teaming up to offer an evening of affordable family dining and a free show that are both out of this world.
On Friday evening, April 4, when Astronomy Night at The Peak returns to Central’s Signal Peak Campus, Sodexho will extend the dining hall hours until 6:30 p.m. so families planning to attend the event can have a relaxing dinner on Central’s Signal Peak Campus.
“We think this is just a terrific opportunity for families to spend an evening at Central Arizona College,” Angélica Salgado-Wood, the general manager for Sodexho Campus Services at the campus, said. “It gives families an opportunity for a night out that includes an inexpensive buffet-style meal that is ideal for both parents and kids.”
Astronomy Night at the Peak will feature Wayne Pryor’s outdoor presentation Saturn and its Moons along with a look inside STARLAB with Katy Wilkins. STARLAB is an inflatable planetarium that provides an inside look of the Arizona nighttime sky.
The free family event will run from 6:30-9 p.m. and is for children and adults of all ages. STARLAB will be inflated from 6:30-8 p.m.
Before the celestial show, moms and dads can bring the entire family for dinner at the Central Arizona Dining Hall from 5-6:30 p.m. The dining hall is located on the second floor of the Mel A. Everingham Student Center across The Green as you enter the campus.
Dinner is $4.28 plus tax per person and is served buffet style. The menu includes hamburgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, pizza, chicken nuggets, French fries, macaroni and cheese, a salad bar, self-serve ice cream and dessert stations, and a choice of beverages.
To create the best possible dining experience for guests, Salgado-Wood is asking anyone interested in dining on the campus the night of the program to contact Sodexho with the number of guests.
“We are not requiring reservations,” Salgado-Wood explained, “but it would help our planning to get a rough estimate on how many people will be interested in joining us for dinner on April 4. Guests can just call or drop us an e-mail note.”
Anyone interested in dining at Central Arizona College on April 4 may contact Salgado-Wood by phone 520-494-5256 or e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org).
