Opera comes to SMC
APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. – Central Arizona College’s Lifelong Learners member Bette Jones will bring her experience with the Arizona Opera to Central’s Superstition Mountain Campus in Apache Junction.
The two-part C.A.L.L. program entitled Opera will take place on Monday, March 3, and Monday, April 14, from 1-4 p.m. in Room 444 and is open to everyone in the community.
There is no charge for C.A.L.L. members or members of the Maricopa Community Colleges’ New Frontiers program. Non-members also may participate for a $25 fee.
The opera class this semester will focus on two of the Arizona Opera's spring productions. The session in March will feature the Magic Flute, while La Traviata will be the subject of the C.A.L.L. class in April.
Each session will include a presentation and discussion by Jones, as well as an opportunity to view portions of the opera on video.
