Dance class in Oracle (Aravaipa Campus)
"Argentine Tango Night" in Oracle offers opportunity for dance instruction in June
ORACLE, Ariz. - Every Saturday night during the month of June, Central Arizona College is providing an "Argentine Tango Night" for couples who want to learn the fascinating dance that has produced more than 10 million participants throughout the world.
The four-week course will be taught by Hector and Lidia Legrand at the Mountain Vista School in Oracle from 7-9 p.m. The class is just $40 and will run June 2-23.
This mini-course offers a unique opportunity for couples to learn classic Argentine Tango as it is danced in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Students will enjoy learning about the historical and cultural background of the famous dance while at the same time practicing and socializing in a fun, relaxed environment.
After these four sessions, students will have learned the most popular basic steps today danced in the "milonga" nightclubs of Argentina.
The Legrands learned the tango in Buenos Aires during the 1950s. They continue to conduct seminars about tango culture as well as tango dancing in the communities of SaddleBrooke and Rancho Vistoso.
The class is being offered through Central Arizona College's Aravaipa Campus located outside of Winkelman in eastern Pinal County.
