Vaquera Athletics - Basketball
SALINA, KS – Central Arizona College will play for its second national title in three years on Saturday night after knocking off the number one team in the nation Friday evening at the 2007 National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament in Salina, Kansas. The #5 Vaqueras, who won the NJCAA crown two years ago and finished third last season, won a seesaw battle vs. #1 Southeastern Illinois College 66-58, snapping the Falcons’ 30-game winning streak. The victory sets up a rematch on Saturday night at 5 p.m. (PDT) inside the Bicentennial Center when the Vaqueras (33-2) look to exact some revenge against #3 Odessa (TX).
