Massage clinics reopen at Signal Peak, Superstition Mountain
COOLIDGE, Ariz. – Central Arizona College’s highly-touted massage clinics at its Superstition Mountain and Signal Peak campuses will reopen the week of February 5 for the Pinal County community.
Reservations are now being accepted for anyone wishing to enjoy a therapeutic massage performed by students who are enrolled in either the massage therapy degree or certificate program offered by the institution. Students gain experience by working in the clinics, while patients are charged a nominal fee to help cover costs associated with the program.
Central’s clinics offer three types of massages: 45-minute full-body massage ($20); 20-minute chair massage ($10); and a two-hour hot rock massage ($40). To make a reservation at either campus, contact Judy Escobar at 480-677-7760 or 520-494-5444, ext. 7760.
The clinic at Central’s Superstition Mountain Campus will begin operation on Monday, February 5, and run every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1-5 p.m. throughout the semester. SMC is located at 273 Old West Highway, Apache Junction, AZ 85219.
The Signal Peak Campus clinic will open on Tuesday, February 6, and offer massages throughout the spring semester each Tuesday and Thursday from 1-5 p.m. SPC is located at 8470 North Overfield Road, Coolidge, AZ 85292.
Central’s massage therapy certificate program focuses on the subject areas required for success as a massage therapist. This includes administration of various methods of therapeutic massage therapy by utilizing knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, proper body mechanics, and legal and ethical issues.
Students enrolled in a certificate program are eligible to continue their education for a massage therapy associate of applied science degree from Central.
