C.A.L.L. program unveils 2007 “Travels to Mexico” schedule
APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. – Central Arizona College is offering a trio of chances to participate in the “Travels to Mexico” program in 2007.
As part of the Central Arizona Lifelong Learners (C.A.L.L.) program, travelers will have an opportunity to immerse themselves in the culture and language of Mexico while practicing Spanish skills in the cool mountain climate of Cuernavaca.
Two nine-day trips are scheduled for March 16-24 and August 5-13 and include daily guided excursions of Mexico City, Taxco, Tepoztlan, museums, historical sites, gardens and craft markets.
The cost of the trip is $1,380 plus $89 for the annual membership in C.A.L.L. (unless the traveler has a current membership). The trip fee also includes roundtrip airfare, private room with a host family, all meals, and daily Spanish instruction and cultural activities.
From October 20-26, a trip to Copper Canyon, Mexico, will reveal the awesome beauty, history and diverse cultures of the largest canyon in North America. Travelers will visit San Carlos for a cruise on the Sea of Cortez; explore Alamos, a charming colonial town declared a national historic landmark in the foothills of the Sierra Madre; and roam through the Mayo Indian countryside.
In El Fuerte, a majestic train ride through the Copper Canyon on the El Chepe will begin, while further exploration of the region will include the Chihuahuan Desert, Nueva Casas Grandes and Paquime.
The cost of the trip is $1,848 plus $89 for the annual membership in C.A.L.L. (unless the traveler has a current membership). The trip fee also includes roundtrip coach from Apache Junction, train tickets, all meals and six nights of lodging at a hotel perched on the rim of the canyon, a bilingual guide, and all taxes and gratuities.
